The CEO Sleepout

Beyond profits to purpose

The CEO Sleepout is an initiative that was started in 2006 in Sydney, Australia. The event invites business leaders to engage business as a force for good, and show their compassion and commitment to social change by participating in a movement to raise funds and awareness in support of homeless and vulnerable people.

On Thursday 18 June 2015 – on what is expected to be one of the coldest nights of the year in South Africa – business leaders from across the country will sleep under the stars for one night to bring hope to homeless children in South Africa through creating awareness and raising funds for our vulnerable youth.

We are proud to announce that Smollan CEO, David Smollan, has volunteered to participate in the inaugural event on 18 June 2015 alongside hundreds of South Africa’s top business leaders who will commit to the global philanthropic movement as agents of change.

David Smollan has said, “We have throughout our 84 year history been a company with a concern for the people who work in the business and those that we deal with. As the company has expanded, this is no less true. In fact, the bigger we get, the greater our role becomes in ensuring that we continue to play a positive role in all our spheres of influence. The CEO Sleepout is a great opportunity to do just that.”
